The Intruder shares its power train with the Gixxer – a 155cc 14.6bhp motor powers the rear wheel via a five-speed gearbox. Fuel injection isn’t available yet, but will be launched soon. The rear tyre is the widest in the segment, at 140mm, and that feeling is echoed when you sit on the motorcycle – those tank extensions make the Intruder feel a whole lot wider than it is, and it thus feels like a whole lot more motorcycle as well. The seat is also a lot wider than a standard seat, but it is very low as well, offering confidence and comfort to the cruiser aficionado.
The Gixxer is known for its outstanding performance and it’s the same with the Intruder. There’s a good amount of refinement and smoothness. It gets a bigger airbox to take care of the extra weight. This motor behaves sane until 3000rpm, to keep things calm for city riding. But post that, with a bit of a grunt and linear power delivery, the bike feels lively and fast. As the revs begin to reach 9000rpm, that’s when the buzz starts to creep in on the handlebar and the footpegs. The five-speed gearbox isn’t the best one in the 150cc segment, but it does the job of keeping things exciting. Even with the extra bike weight, it is possible to ride at 40kmph in fifth gear.
The Intruder does look odd from certain angles, there is no macho look. Mainly all plastic look when compared to the engine that it is taken from. I personally like the Gixxer more than the Intruder.
Having said this, On road price of the Suzuki intruder Bangalore will come around 1.20 Lakh which is decent for a Suzuki engine.
Intruder having the engine capacity of 155cc and producing 14.6 bhp of power @ 8000 RPM will give mileage of 44 kmpl.
It has a fuel capacity of 11 ltr so having a range of 484 km.
If you choose to buy it you will have 2 colour options. Grey and Black.
I would buy Grey if I was buying it!
